Betty Jean Barnes – Obituary

Betty Jean Barnes, 68, of Iuka, MS, died Friday, June 24, 2017, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Mrs. Barnes spent her life doing what she loved, which was teaching children. She also taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of Antioch Freewill Baptist Church. She held a special place in her heart for children with special needs. She also enjoyed going to activities that the church held and reading her bible. Visitation is scheduled from 5 until 8 P.M., Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Visitation will continue on Sunday, June 25, at 12 until the time of service. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Mike Edwards and Bro. Acey Floyd. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by her sister, Marie Floyd (William); her brother, Edward Barnes; her nephews, Andy Floyd (Pat) and Chris Barnes; her niece, Cyndi Barnes; her great nephew, Acey Floyd (Chelsea); and her great great nephew, Davis Autry Floyd. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Evie Barnes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideon’s or to the charity of ones choice.
