Steven D. Jackson – Obituary

Steven D. Jackson, 63, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017, at his residence.

Steve was born in Harriman, Tennessee, to Dewey and Nancy Jackson on Oct. 30, 1953. His family moved to Alabama in 1966.

He attended West Morgan High School, where he graduated with honors and participated in the homecoming court his senior year. He then attended UNA majoring in history and secondary education. He graduated in 1976 with honors.

Steve read his Bible every day. He was a peacemaker and had the most endearing, contagious laugh. He never refused to help someone in need.

Steve enjoyed sports, especially football and baseball. His favorite teams were the Tennessee Volunteers, Alabama Crimson Tide, and the New York Yankees.

Steve was general manager at Stan McCulloch for many years. He then went on to other dealerships ending with Champion Dodge of Decatur. He won many awards including salesman of the month several times and salesman of the year, along with other awards.

Steve was preceded in death by his Daddy, Dewey Jackson in 2001. Survivors include his wife, Lynda Jackson, of Decatur; son, Timothy Jackson, of Decatur; mother, Nancy Jackson, of Trinity; brothers, Mike Jackson (Diane), of Wetumpka, and Randy Jackson, of Decatur; sister, Pat Beard, of Hartselle; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Time with our loved ones is never long enough on this earth. You will be dearly missed, love.

A memorial service will be Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with Mike Sparks officiating.
