Robert F. Hurley, 83, of Hayden went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 8, 2017.
He is survived by two daughters, Theresa (Jeffrey) Fuller of Forestdale and Sherri (Ken) Clark of Danville; three grandchildren, Benjamin Fuller, Elijah Clark and Elizabeth Clark; Shirley Cowley of Bessemer; James Richard Hurley of Birmingham and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hurley was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Julia B Hurley; parents, Lawrence S. Hurley and Regina F. Hurley; brother, Lawrence “Buddy” Hurley Jr.; and sisters, Elizabeth Glenn, Bobbie Burch, Bonnie Smith, Betty Case and Joan Lanahan.
Mr. Hurley was a longtime member of Brookhaven United Methodist Church of Powderly. He was also a member of the Walking Horse Association of Alabama as well as the Alabama Show Horse Association.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. The graveside service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. Brother Dennis Agnew will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. A special thanks to Alacare Hospice and Visiting Angels for their care and support.
