Richard Roberson – Obituary

Richard Roberson, age 75, passed away Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Rogersville. He retired from TVA Brown’s Ferry after 30 plus years of service and enjoyed being a member of Rogersville Masonic Lodge, Local 660 Operating Engineers and trustee of the local democratic party.
Visitation will be Friday, June 9th, 2017 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in the chapel with Bobby Walton officiating. Burial will be in Civitan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zach, Hunter, Blake, Charlie Mike, Pic Roberson and Anthony Nash. Honorary, Bayless Thornton, Gene Downs, Jesse Comer, Don “Tic” Nance, Jimmy Solley, Kevin Garner, Fred Shelton, Bo Tiller, Greg Phillips and Robert Earl Baggett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex & Lucille Roberson; brothers, John and Charles Roberson and brother-in-law, Hugh Nash.
Richard was survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 53 years, Janie Baggett Roberson; sons, Brad (Gena) and Brent (Donna); grandchildren, Zach (Kristen), Hunter, Blake (Kennedy), Ashley (Nathan) and Gracie, sister, Jimmie Lou Roberson Nash of Oneonta, AL; brother, Robert (Sue) Roberson of Zellwood, FL; brother-in-law, Robert Earl Baggett; sisters-in-law, Dot and Anita Roberson all of Rogersville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Roberson’s happiest years were spent watching his grandchildren play sports, hunting, fishing and riding the gator on the Roberson Beach farm. He enjoyed cattle farming, refinishing antiques, gardening and making homemade wine.
A special thanks to Kindred Hospice for not only your care for the sick but also to the family in pain. May God continue to bless all of you with the special talent you have to care for your patients and to help mend all the broken hearts of the family left behind.
Char a gift from God to make Richard’s eyes shine with happiness when she walked into our home, you are a treasure and a blessing to our family. Thanks can never be enough. You are so loved and cherished.
