Ethelene Dulaney Lesley – Obituary

Ethelene Dulaney Lesley, 87 years old, went to her Heavenly home on May 24, 2017, where she was welcomed by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her husband of sixty-six years, Walter Lesley. Mrs. Lesley was born on September 7, 1929, to her parents, the late Rex and Jewel Dulaney. She was a retired factory worker and married the love of her life Walter Lesley on April 17, 1949. Mrs. Lesley was a lifelong and faithful member of Friendship Methodist Church. She loved to cook and carry food to the sick and shut-in in her community.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Ricky Lesley and Bro. Darrell Sanderson officiating. Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery.

Survivors include her children, Ricky Lesley of Mantachie, Wanda Barnes (Bobby) of Ozark, and Patsy Tyra (Don) of Mantachie; two brothers, Tom Dulaney of Holly Springs and Gene Dulaney (Dot) of Mantachie; one sister-in-law, Fanny Hill of Fulton; her grandchildren, Walt Barnes, Krisha Boren, Dawn McCarty, Ami Walton, and Andy Tyra; great-grandchildren, Lane, Abby, Avery, Cade, Ba, Kelton, Lexi, Izzy, and Lottie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Walter, she was preceded in death by her brother, Woodrow; and her sisters, Cleta Walker, Edith Davidson, Frances Christian, and Opal Wallace.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Barnes, Don Tyra, Walt Barnes, Wayne Lesley, Lane Walton, Anthony Walton, Andy Tyra, and Mike Nanney.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of her ladies Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 26, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
