Maggie Ozell Gilmore – Obituary

Maggie Ozell Gilmore, 82, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born September 12, 1934, in Itawamba County to the late George and Norma Little Kennedy. She was a retired seamstress and long time member of Carolina Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking and caring for her loving family.

Survivors include her children, Casey Matthew Gilmore (Denise) of Pontotoc, Robert Gilmore of Carolina Community, Holley Saxon of Pontotoc and Terry Canerdy (John) of Carolina community; three brothers, Lee Kennedy of Amory, Doug Kennedy (Barbara) of Aberdeen, Mike Kennedy (Lois) of Aberdeen; one sister, Juanita Kennedy of Carolina Community; sister-in-law, Doris Kennedy of Amory; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud Gilmore; three brothers, Cecil, George, and Hack Kennedy and one son-in-law, Doug Saxon.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Truman Carter and Bro. Ricky Jones officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at New Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 from 5 until 8 p.m. at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
