Thomas G. Newman, age 90, of Gurley, Alabama passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Newman was born in Jackson County, Alabama to Fred and Bessie Newman. He served in the United States Army and served in World War II. Mr. Newman worked at Ragland Brothers, Redstone Arsenal and worked on the farm. He spent time fishing and enjoying his family, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Mr. Newman was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Newman and his daughter Carolyn Franklin. He is survived by his son Steve Newman (Leanna) of Gurley; brother Robert E. Newman (Jimmie Lou) of Owens Cross Roads; sister-in-law Betty Morning; grandchildren Cody, Kaycee, Kaila, Trisha, Carsonette and Tabby and great-grandchildren Graham, Xzander, Payton, Cooper, Brantley, Ryker, Caleb, Kylie, Chase, Blake, Carly Ann and Emma.
