Kaleb Estes – Obituary

Cadet 1st Class Kaleb Estes of Hartselle passed away May 7, 2017, in Colorado. He was a member of Decatur Baptist Church. He was Valedictorian of Hartselle class of 2009, varsity basketball statistician, member of the golf team, and National Merit recipient. He was a Student Ambassador to Japan – Diakin Homestay Program, Volunteer Student of the Year in 2008, and Alabama Hospital Outstanding Teenage Volunteer in 2009. He was a member of the 2017 graduating class at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He is survived by his parents, Keith and Melissa Estes; his sister, Kiersten and husband, Doug Simpson; and niece, Heidi of Decatur; his grandparents, Linda Harvey of Decatur, Bobby Harris of Hartselle and Nathan and Glenda Estes of Silver Creek, Georgia.

Visitation will be Friday, May 19th from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral will be Saturday, May 20th at 2 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage with Pastor Doug Ripley officiating. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Military graveside will follow at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home or Hospice of the Valley. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
