Tharon Thomas Harrison – Obituary

Tharon Thomas Harrison, 81, of Town Creek passed away on Tuesday morning, May 16th, surrounded by family members. He was born Oct. 29, 1935 in rural Colbert County to Tharon and Methel Connor Harrison. He attended Austinville High School in Decatur and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Alabama National Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post 237, Huntsville, and he retired from the U.S. Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, in 1988. He attended the Town Creek United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sue Morgan Harrison; stepson, Steve Bolling and a sister, Anna McClain.

He is survived by his current wife, Sandra Bolling Harrison; sons, Charles Harrison (Lisa) and Tim Harrison (Robert); six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Harrison (Jane) and Donald Harrison; sister, Carolyn Parker (Charles).

Burial will be a private ceremony at the Reeves Family Cemetery in Hartselle with Jackson Memory Funeral Home assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in Mr. Harrison’s name.
