Margaret Marie Wigton Furgerson – Obituary

Margaret Marie Wigton Furgerson departed this life for her heavenly home Saturday, May 13, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Furgerson; parents, Charles and Bertie Wigton; sister, Jewell Morrison; brother, C.W. Wigton; son-in-law, 1st Lt. Robert King; and an infant grandchild.

Margaret is survived by her children, Sharon White, Becky Ford (Jim), Pat Marlin (Bob), and Britt Furgerson (Paula); grandchildren, Doug White (Chris), Heather Sager (Brad), Josh Marlin, Suzanna Bailey (Jeremy), Brittney Furgerson, and Justin Furgerson; great-grandchildren, Douglas White, Lauren and LiAnna Rogers, Rebekah Grace, John David and Rachel Bailey, Baylee Sager and Evan Sager, and Tylar, Will and Katie Marlin; and great-great-grandchild, Oliver Marlin.

Margaret was a homemaker who was a wonderful cook. Later in life, she worked at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home. She loved taking care of the residents there. After retirement, she spent many years serving the Lord at Mitchell Hollingsworth with the First Freewill Baptist Church nursing home ministry. She had been a member of Underwood Baptist Church for several years. She loved and appreciated the Homebound Ministry of UBC, and anyone wishing to honor her memory, please consider contributing to that ministry.

The family wishes to thank UBC for their love and support. They also want to thank Dr. Lyman Mitchell and Pam Hill and caregivers Juanita Holland, Darlene Hill, Glenda Thompson and Rhonda Gooch, and a special thank you to Kindred Home Health and Hospice.

A memorial service will be held today at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with the service beginning at 2 p.m. with Brother Jerry Phillips and Brother Donnie McDaniel officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jim Ford, Doug White, Bob Marlin, Jeremy Bailey, Josh Marlin, Brad Sager, Justin Furgerson, and Jimmy Morrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Elvis Larkin, Bobby Price, Brian Price, and Bob Marlin Jr.
