TENNESSEE VALLEY-Electric consumers in TVA’s seven-state region will see monthly statements for June that will be nearly 10 percent less than the three-year same-month average.
Beginning June 1, the total monthly fuel cost for residential and business consumers will be 2.022 cents per kilowatt-hour, while large industrial customers served by TVA and local power companies will see a fuel cost of 1.865 cents per kilowatt-hour.
These prices reflect the cost of fuels that TVA uses to generate electricity at its power plants. Fuel costs rise and fall because of factors such as weather, regional and global economic conditions, and supply and demand.
TVA generates electricity with the right fuel, at the right time and at the lowest-possible cost using its diverse generation portfolio for delivery in the most cost-efficient way possible to local power company and direct-serve customers.
In addition to effectively managing fuel costs, TVA offers a number of energy efficiency programs and tips to help consumers wisely use energy.
