Mary Ruth Kluesner Hendon – Obituary

Mary Ruth Kluesner Hendon, age 49, of Florence, passed away May 13, 2017. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Florian. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. with Father John O’Donell, O.S.B. officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mary was a 1985 graduate of Brooks High School and graduated from UNA and Wallace State. She was employed as an occupational therapist with J.W. Sommer Rehabilitation Center.

She was a loving wife and devoted mother who was involved in her children’s activities at St. Joseph School and Florence High School. She was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she saw a need and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Rosalia Kluesner; and an infant brother, John Kluesner. She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Tim Hendon; children, Brooklyn and Justin Hendon; brother, Raymond Kluesner and wife, Tammy; special brother-in-law, Randy Hendon; and nephew and niece, Joseph and Christina Kluesner.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Kluesner, Marty Peters, Paul Carter, Richard Krieger, Greg Peters, and Ralph Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy and John Higginbotham.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Cancer Centers of America in Atlanta, the staff of Alacare Hospice, and a special thanks to Dr. Robert Mann for all of his time. The family is also grateful to Mary’s friends, co-workers, and fellow church members for all of the food, visits, cards, and expressions of love received during her illness.
