Barbara Ann Cox King, 84 of Arab died Friday May 12, 2017 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mrs. King was born July 24, 1932 in Marshall County to Willie Gus Cox and Lettie Jane Allen Cox. She worked for Wrangler as a Plant Auditor until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, traveling, going to the beach and was a wonderful cook. Mrs. King was a blessing to her family and friends, and she always put others needs before her own. Her husband, Dick King preceded her in death on October 30, 2004.
She was a member of Victory Cornerstone Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Tommy and Joan King; her daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and Ervin Boyd and Sarah and Rex Mitchell; two sisters: Melba Adams and Becky May; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dick King; her daughter and son in-law: Cynthia and Dewey Durham; her parents: Willie Gus and Lettie Jane Cox; a brother: Douglas Cox and a sister: Dorothy King.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 16, 2017 at Victory Cornerstone Church with Gus King, officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Mitchell, Trevor Mitchell, Clay Mitchell, Chris Chaffin, Russ Chandler, Kyle Chandler, Peyton Hill, Brodie Hill, Mike Adams and Brad King.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday May 15, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. She will also lie in state from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
