Two Arrested After Drugs Found In Motel Room

DECATUR-The  DEcatur Police Department released a statement concerning drug activity over the past few weeks occurring at Motel 6 on 6th Ave. in Decatur:

“During the past several weeks, the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit received complaints of illegal drug sales coming from Motel 6 at 810 6th Ave NE from room #226. An investigation was started and Christy Nicole Hargrove was developed as a suspect.

On May 11, 2017, Investigators made contact with Hargrove and Randall Dewayne Hixson at the

room. During the course of the investigation, Hixson was found to be in possession of a quantity of prescription medication (controlled substance). He was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Hargrove was found to be in possession of a substance that was meant to imitate methamphetamine/ice. She was placed under arrest for Possession with Intent to Distribute Imitation Controlled Substances. Hixson also had an active felony warrant for his arrest with Cherokee County (Alabama) Sheriff’s Office.

Hixson and Hargrove were both transported to the Morgan County Jail. Hixson remains in the jail in lieu of a $1,000.00 bond. Hargrove remains in the jail in lieu of a $500.00 bond.
“The defendant is accused of the above crimes and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
