Suspect In Custody For May 8th Bank Robbery

MADISON-The Madison Police Department released a statement on the capture of a suspect in the May 8 Bank Robbery in Madison:

On the morning of May 8th, 2017 the Madison Police Department received a Robbery in progress call from North Alabama Educators Credit Union at 7559 Highway 72.

Bank employees advised a black male had robbed a teller and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The Madison Police Department responded immediately and canvassed the area, but the alleged offender was not located.

During the course of the investigation detectives had learned the bank had camera footage of the offender. This information was circulated to the media for possible identification. A concerned citizen later recognized the offender as Jamal Rashad Glover of Huntsville. A warrant was obtained and secured for the arrest of Jamal offender for Robbery 1st.

On May 10th, 2017 Jamal Rashad Glover was stopped and arrested by the Huntsville Police Department for the warrant.
Jamal Rashad Glover was booked into the Madison County Jail and held on a bond amount of $60,000.

The Madison Police Department appreciates the assistance and cooperation of local area law enforcement and citizens.”
