Wallace Hubert Thompson, Jr. (W.H.) of Lexington passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. He was 72 years old. He was born on July 29, 1944 to Wallace Sr. and Jimmie Boone Richardson Thompson. He attended school at Lexington then graduated from Deshler High School in 1962. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florence State College and his master’s from Montevallo. After a brief teaching/coaching career, he worked in banking and spent much of his career with the FDIC. He was recently employed with CB&S Bank in Russellville. He was a Bible class teacher and member of Northside Church of Christ in Lexington. He was a faithful servant and devoted to his family.

W.H. was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Thompson, Sr., two daughters, Wendy and Amanda, and sister Jean Murks. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Polly Bowling Thompson, daughters Leigh Stanfield (Gerald) and Tammy Westbrook (Chris), his beloved grandchildren Cheney, Chloe, Trey, and Elijah Westbrook, his mother Boone Thompson, sisters Ann Howard (Roger), Pam Thompson, brother Charles Thompson (Cynthia), a treasured uncle Dave Thompson (Karen), and numerous nephews, nieces, brethren, and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Loretto Memorial Chapel. Matt Oglesby and Joe Corley will be officiating. Burial will follow at Pettus Cemetery in Lexington, AL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in honor of W.H. Thompson.
