Edward M. “Bill” Wilemon – Obituary

Edward M. “Bill” Wilemon, 88, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House. He was born March 3, 1929, to Jessie V. and Opal Dulaney Wilemon. He worked in sales for 29 years for Earnest Hardware and for 26 years at Wood Sales. He was the oldest living member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening and yard work.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Bro. Jackie Gray and Bro. Tim Holsonback officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include his children, Mitzi Wood (Robert), Randy Wilemon (Helen), and Debbie Cooley (Ronney); his grandchildren, Marty Wood (Julie), Misty Hogan (Michael), Matt Wilemon (Bethany), Mike Wilemon (Shea), Corey Moore (Brittany), Annabeth Thomas (Justin), Justin Cooley (Roxanne), and Allison Cooley; and his great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Wood, Morgan Wood, Jordan Wood, Paul Martin Wood, Mackenzie Wood, Jace Cooley, Kimber Cooley, Wyatte Beasley, Wesson Wilemon, Sutten Wilemon, Piper Wilemon, Chaysen Moore, and Porter Moore.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Wilemon; a daughter-in-law, Donna Wilemon; a grandson, Chris Cooley; one sister, Susie Mae Wilemon; two brothers, Grady Wilemon and James “Pug” Wilemon; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Marty Wood, Michael Hogan, Matt Wilemon, Mike Wilemon, Corey Moore, Justin Thomas, Justin Cooley, Donnie Robinson, and Dennis Ruth.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
