Darryl E. (Childress) Childers – Obituary

Darryl E. (Childress) Childers, 65, of Decatur went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2017 at the Veterans Hospital Safe Harbor Center in Birmingham after a short bout with Cancer.

Funeral will be Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Jackson Memory Funeral Home in Town Creek. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. prior to the funeral.

He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Childers and Victoria “Cindy” Childress; two sons, Joshua Childers and Darryl Bruce Childers, all of Moulton; two sisters, Brenda Jackson and Marvinell Lemmond (Bud) Decatur; two brothers, Billy Childress, of Decatur and Robert “Monkey” (Ann) Childress, of Hazel Green; seven grandchildren, Matthew Lawson, Lizzie Lovett, McKinzie Lovett, of Hohenwald, Tennessee, James Hill, Talan Hill and Grayson Hill, of Moulton and Jacoby Childers, of Moulton.

Pallbearers will be Chris Childress, Brian Childress, Corey Adams, Chris Adams, Craig Autery, and Freddie Pickelsimer.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Valley in Decatur.
