Thomas E. “Too-Too” Johnson, age 95, of Spring Hill, Tennessee passed away on Friday, May 05, 2017 at his residence.

Thomas was born on October 21, 1921 to David J. and Beulah G. Cammuse Johnson in Maury County, Tennessee. He was married to Glenna Ann Davis Johnson since May 29, 1943 and was always a hard-working, great provider for his family. He was a retiree of Union Carbide after working there for 36 years. He was known for his vegetables, enjoying gardening and sharing the fruits of his labors freely with others. His tomatoes were always especially delicious and wonderful. Hunting and fishing were some of his favorite things to do and he remained active into his 90’s up until very recently. Thomas was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. He was awarded an honorary high school diploma because he left school to serve the nation he loved during the war. He was a member of New Lasea Church of Christ.

Left to remember Thomas are his loving wife: Glenna Johnson; daughters: Jean (JR) Anderson of Williamsport, Debbie (Larry) Vick, Peggy Oliver and Lisa (Tim) Thomas; son-in-law: David Ballard; grandchildren: Paula Beard, Bryan (Dana) Ballard, Stephanie (Paul) Zimmerman, Jennifer (Chris) Beard, Tommy (Sara) Vick, Wendy Oliver, Jeffrey Oliver, Alyssa Thomas and Jonathan Thomas; and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter: Nancy Ballard and his siblings Winnie Russell, J. H. Johnson and Verna Mae Brown.

Funeral services for Thomas will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with John Waldrum. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, May 7 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Bryan Ballard, Tommy Vick and Jeffrey Oliver, Danny Clark, Paul Zimmerman and Larry Brown will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his fishing buddies: Ralph Griggs and Howard Ragsdale, Bear Creek Convenience Center past and present employees, James Cammuse, Larry Bush and Larry and Myra Fox.

The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus for their compassionate care during Mr. Johnson’s final illness.

In addition to flowers memorials can be made to the Jones Cemetery Association.
