Robert Loye Buck – Obituary

Robert Loye Buck, 69, of Madison, was born on November 12, 1947 and passed away on May 4, 2017 after a short illness. An attorney and pharmaceutical consultant, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia Alexander Buck of Madison; daughters Amanda Buck Varella (and husband John) of North Easton, Massachusetts and Eleanor Buck Touchet (and husband Russell) of Madison, Mississippi; son Russell Alexander Buck of Madison; four grandchildren, Emma Katherine Varella and John Alexander Varella of North Easton, Massachusetts, and Reese Michael Touchet and Caroline Avery Touchet of Madison, Mississippi; and one brother, Raymond Douglas Buck (and wife Janice) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Loye is also survived by his beloved family by marriage, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Roberts Buck and Mary Coleman Hanks Buck of Decatur.

A native of Decatur, Loye was a graduate of Decatur High School and the University of Alabama. After serving in the United States Air Force, he received a Master of Business Administration degree from Samford University and Juris Doctor degree from Birmingham School of Law. Loye was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Prater, Brent Peek, Gordon Burden, Brandon Alexander, Andrew Alexander, Russell Alexander, and Mack Dunlap.

Visitation will be at Parkway Funeral Home in Trinity on Sunday, May 7th from 1-4. The funeral service will be Monday, May 8th at 11 am at Parkway Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Prater officiating. Burial will be at East Lawrence Memorial Garden in Moulton.
