Ola Louise Reynolds, 89, met her Savior on Monday, May 1, 2017, at the hospice facility of the North Mississippi Medical Center following a brief illness.  She had been living at the Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since June 2016.  Prior to that time, she had lived 88 years in Mantachie, MS.

Louise was born on August 9, 1927, in Itawamba County.  She was the primary caregiver for her nieces and nephews during their infancy and early childhood years.  When her mother retired, Louise started a career at the Mantachie Factory, manufacturing shirts.  Even though this job did not begin until she was in her 40’s, Louise worked there over 20 years, only retiring when the factory closed its doors.

Louise became a Christian at Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy.  Later, she changed her denomination to United Methodism.  She was a vital part of the Shiloh United Methodist Church and its ministries for over 40 years. Louise loved her New York Yankees, never missing a televised game.  She also had a love for Elvis Presley, cooking, southern gospel music, and the color red.  But mostly, she loved her family and friends.

Louise was welcomed home by her mother Lorette Reynolds on September 6, 1993; her sister Joann Painter on February 12, 2015; her brother-in-law Bobby Painter on May 11, 2007; her sister-in-law Johnnie Mae Reynolds on December 21, 1997; and a host of other family and friends.

Louise is survived by her brother, whom she loved dearly, Carlos Reynolds of Mantachie, MS; two nieces, Cindy Reynolds and Susan Hood, both of Mantachie, MS; two nephews, Bobby Painter, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, and Chris Reynolds of Vaiden, MS; and two grandnieces, Caryn Hood of Shawnee, KS, and Beth Hood of Mantachie, MS.

Louise’s celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Mantachie.  The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 8 pm Friday.  She will be buried next to her beloved mother at the Oak Grove Cemetery in the Ratliff Community outside Mantachie.  McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice facility.
