JoAnn Payne Bowling – Obituary

JoAnn Payne Bowling, age 77, gained eternal healing on Sunday, April 30, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. JoAnn passed away at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka. She was born March 14, 1940, in Belmont, Mississippi. Along with gardening, working in her flower bed and reading, she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Orville “OJ” Bowling and her step sons, Charles (Joyce) Bowling and Wayborn (Debbie) Bowling, all of Iuka. She leaves five grandchildren: Chris (Beth) Bowling of Dorsey, MS; Ginger Bowling of Golden, MS; Melanie (Heath) Robinson; Whitney (Drew) Dawson; and Blake (Haley) Bowling, all of Iuka; and six great grandchildren: Sarah and Madelyn Robinson, Jay Dawson, Nathan and Madison Bowling, and Addison Howell. JoAnn is survived by one brother, Lewis C. (Ima Jeanne) Payne and one nephew, Matthew (Tina) Payne of Golden, MS, as well as nieces, Linda (Stanton) Clark of Iuka, MS and Shelia Crawford of Memphis, TN, and a host of cousins and other loved ones. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, William Erskey and Evelyn Leona Wells Payne of Golden; an infant daughter, and grandson, Wayborn Michael Bowling. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka is entrusted with her arrangements. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka with services at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at Cypress Grove Cemetery in Iuka.
