William Larry Ussery – Obituary

William Larry Ussery, 70, of Tuscumbia, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Colbert Heights as well as a member of the ASCAP. He ran Valdosta Auto Service for 30 years, after retiring from TVA.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Claira Ussery; brothers, Smitty and Curtis Ussery; sisters, Beverly Faye Wells, Arminda Chapman, and Cheryl George.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Ussery, of Tuscumbia; daughter, Nicole “Nikki” Ussery, of Tuscumbia; sisters, Bobbie Phares, of Lexington, Cindy Shivers (Mike), of Phil Campbell, and Sandy Ussery Dawson Noe, of Leighton; brother-in-law, Jim Deerman (Vickie), of Bonham, Texas; sister-in-law’s, Betty Sue Ussery, of Iuka, Mississippi, and Charlotte Ussery, of Dora, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Crowden, Christopher Frederick, Michael Shivers, Jon Hooker, Dale Frederick, and Jerry Dalrymple.

A visitation with family and friends will be Monday, May 1, 2017 from 11a.m. until 1p.m. at Colbert Memorial. The funeral service will follow at 1p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Poplar Creek Cemetery. Brother Jerry Hester and Brother Wayne Fleming will officiate.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Larry’s dear friends, Jerry Dalrymple and Donnie Fritts, as well as Dr. Paul Morris and the doctors and nurses at the STICU in Huntsville, Alabama.

Colbert Memorial is assisting the family.
