ATHENS-Please join us for the annual City of Athens Relay for Life Celebrity Waiters Night on May 2 from 5-8 p.m. at Applebee’s. Our Celebrity Waiters are working for tips with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. These Celebrity Waiters also are very competitive.

Attorney Shane Black has been known to do magic tricks for the kids so the parents will tip him well.
City Councilman Frank Travis learned from the late Jimmy Gill, our beloved City Councilman who died last year from cancer. Councilman Travis is asking all his community contacts to support him now with donations, whether they can attend or not.
Rookie waiters firefighter Lee Marker and police officer Michael Stainbrook have appealed to the public’s appreciation of first responders.
And, Mayor Ronnie Marks and East Limestone Band Director Jennifer “Miss Sam” Janzen are once again making side bets on who will raise the most. Miss Sam has been the top Celebrity Waiter the past two years and pulled in $1,000 in tips last year. Mayor Marks has declared her a “one and done” while Miss Sam has asked for a key to the City of Athens to be presented to her in front of the band by Mayor Marks as he admits she beat him yet again.
If you can’t attend, you can send donations in support of your favorite waiter to Holly Hollman, P.O. Box 1089, Athens, AL 35612.
