Larry was born and raised in Lawrence County and attended E.O. Coffman Elementary School. At 16 he won the Lawrence County Golden Gloves Award for boxing. He was retired from Nissan where he worked for over 22 years as a Tool and Die Maintenance Technician in the stamping plant in Smyrna, TN. He was also the founder and Co-Owner of Sue’s Bluegrass Klassic Koffee Shop and Pickin’ Parlor located in Ethridge, TN. He was well known in the Bluegrass Music community and worked on a few different albums with The Mixed Countians and a few others. Larry was a long time member of the Murfreesboro Hot Rod Association and the Lawrence County Classics Car Club. He was also a member of College Place Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg. He was known for his musical achievements and his warm smirky smile, but also for his ability to speak Sign Language to the deaf where for many years he was an interpreter for the deaf at many different churches. He will forever be known for his trademark sign of “I Love You” which he spread across different continents like a virus where he taught the Japanese and others the sign for peace and love.

You will forever be on our minds, in our hearts, and in our music.
