William S. Piper, age 90, of Lawrenceburg and formerly of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Keestone Assisted Living in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.

William was born on May 19, 1926, in Carthage, Tennessee to Howard and Ada Williams Piper. He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. On August 31, 1951, William married the love of his life, Anita Maynard. They enjoyed sixty-five years together, working and raising a family together. He was retired from AT&T as an installer and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Nashville.

William is survived by his loving wife: Anita Maynard Piper of Lawrenceburg; children: Richard C. Piper of Brentwood and Sharon K. White of Lawrenceburg; and grandchildren: Crystal, Matthew and Jacob White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Eugene Piper.
