David Andrew Marcus, 54, a resident of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 15, 2017. David was a Sales Manager with CAE Healthcare in Sarasota, FL. He is a 1980 graduate of Grissom High School and he received his Paramedic Certification soon afterward. He worked for HEMSI as a Paramedic and for LifeFlight as a Flight Paramedic. David also worked for several regional ambulance services in St. Petersburg, FL, Anaheim, CA, and Birmingham, AL before entering the medical equipment industry as a Sales Representative for Zoll Medical, Medtronic-Physio Control and Laerdal Medical Corporation.
David is survived by his wife of 26 years, Leigh Summerlin Marcus of Huntsville, AL; his son, Troy Andrew Marcus of Huntsville, AL; his daughter, Anya Katherine Marcus of Daphne, AL; his parents, Dr. Elliot and Carol Marcus of Huntsville, AL; his brother, Stephen Marcus of Huntsville, AL; his sister, Natalie Ververis (John); nephew, Jack Ververis of Orlando, FL; his mother-in-law, Mary L. Summerlin of Huntsville, AL; his brothers-in-law Bill Summerlin of Highland Home, AL, and John Summerlin of Niceville, FL; his niece, Brittany Cochran (Michael); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends.
A graveside service for all friends and family members will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, AL on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at the Marcus home.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
