Margaret S. Chambers – Obituary

Margaret S. Chambers, 87 of Double Springs passed away on April 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 29, 1929 in Double Springs. Mrs. Chambers was a lifelong member of Houston Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and cooking.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 6-8pm at Houston Baptist Church, where services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00pm. Brother Donnie Carroll and Brother Kenny Sudduth will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Mike (Jerice) Chambers; daughters, Judy (Clint) Rice and Janet Curtis; brothers, Willard (Carolyn) Stewart, Newt (Mary) Stewart, J.C. (Gladys) Stewart and Joe (Linda) Stewart; sisters, Dora Mae Brindley, Etta (Rayford) Martin and Elvira Beck; she was Granny and Grandmaw to eight grandchildren, Letitia (Steve) Stovall, Chris Rice, Jessica Narramore, Casey (Kimberly) Rice, Shaun Curtis, Malarie Beasley, Cullen (Ashtyn) Beasley and Michaela Chambers; and one great grandson, Alex Narramore; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Hershell Chambers; parents, Milous and Georgia Stewart; son, Hershell “Runt” Chambers Jr.; and brothers, Wallace Stewart and Willice Stewart.

The family would like to wish a special thank you to Asera Care Hospice and especially Susan and Stephanie, and special caregivers, Mary Veal and Kimberly Young.
