Imogene Fay Baird, 79 of Arab died Sunday April 16, 2017 at Diversacare of Arab.
Ms. Baird was born August 19, 1937 in Chaonia, Missouri to Luther Frances Wilson and Mary Elizabeth Noldge Wilson. Ms. Baird grew up in Birmingham and had lived in Jasper and Adamsville before moving to Arab. She enjoyed singing, sewing, volunteering with different charity organizations and going on Mission Trips and cooking for the workers.
Ms. Baird was a member of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Donna Baird Crider and John, Beth Kolarchick and Christy Parker and Tom; her sons and daughter-in-law: Robert “Bobby” Baird and Eddie and Mary Jane Whatley; her children’s father: Robert “Don” Baird; a sister Dorothy Allgood; her grandchildren Andy Green and Robin, Lindsey Bloodworth and Christopher, Lauren McGhee and Whit, Carissa Crider, Ashley Nichols, Christopher Parker and Lily Grace Parker and a soon to be great grandchild; Avery Wren McGhee and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son Joel Baird; her parents; Luther and Mary Wilson and a sister Freda Lindsay.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brother: Jamey Pruett, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Valhalla Cemetery at 839 Wilks Road, Bessemer, Al. 35020 with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Bloodworth, Whit McGhee, Andy Green, Tom Parker, Ray Lindsay and Gene Barnett.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday April 17, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alabama Baptist Children’s Home or Alzheimer’s Association.
