Corey Mack

Digital Eyewear company based in Los Angeles. Corey began LAFORGE Optical in his living room by combining a mesh network concept with a smart home concept from his previous start-ups he was involved with during his undergraduate years at RIT, in Rochester, New York. His company is the first ever to create an augmented reality experience that is within a prescription lens and currently makes the lightest augmented reality hardware platform at 27 grams.

As Head of Design, Corey created the company’s “Low Poly Design Language”. By creating symbiotic relationships between component functions and material properties, LAFORGE eyewear has a minimal design that enables designers to “remove enough form to reveal the function”. Mack is also the inventor of several of the company’s key patents with about a dozen published or pending applications globally.
Corey got his start in the entrepreneur space in the 7th grade by selling food products to neighbors and classmates and later moving on to online consumer electronics in high school. While in college, he started “The College Driver”; a car review website for college students; and won or placed in several pitching competitions. Other distractions during his college career included building a vehicle from carbon-fiber capable of 1,200 mpg for the Shell Eco-Marathon, serving as a Team Leader of an inner-city FIRST robotics team, and designing a micro-clinic concept for rural parts of Africa: three activities that he credits to his success at LAFORGE Optical.
In his free time, Corey spends his time resto-moding his motorcycle, performing botany experiments, and supporting LA-area musicians by advising a performance series.
