Dora Sue Crook Waters – Obituary

Dora Sue Crook Waters of Decatur passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends, Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the age of 78. Dora was a member of Austinville Church of Christ. She was known by her family and friends as the sweetest and most selfless person that they knew. The world was a much better place with her in it but everyone knows that she is in the presence of our King. Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Waters and parents, Glenn and Thelma Crook.

Dora is survived by her children, Donna Waters (Bryce) McCreless of Decatur, Joey (Sonya) Waters of Hartselle and Lynn Waters (Russell) McMillan of Birmingham; brother, Eddie Crook of Decatur; five grandchildren, Neal (Leigh Ann) McCreless, Kasey Waters (Beau) Goss, Erin Waters (Fred) Hemm, Taylor McMillan and Tyler McMillan and five great-grandchildren, Hailey and Audrey McCreless, Olivia Goss and Parker and Avery Hemm.

A Celebration of Life will be Friday, April 14, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Posey officiating. A time of visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Note from her church family: She was a faithful Christian, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and special friend to many.
