Jonathan Pangilinan Rainwater, age 38, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017. Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence. A graveside service will be Thursday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Sand Springs Cemetery in Fayette County, Alabama. Jonathan was employed with North American Lighting in Muscle Shoals. He was a 1997 graduate of Fayette County High School in Fayette, Alabama. Survivors include his father, Kenneth R. Rainwater; mother, Perlita Rainwater; companion, Grace Alverson; grandfather, Kenneth “Babe” Rainwater; aunts, Cathie Jones and Carol Pace; cousins, William Whaley and Elizabeth Llewellyn; and special great-aunt, Sue.
Jonathan touched the lives of so many in his brief time on earth. His generous heart, lively sense of humor, and utter selflessness endeared him to all who knew him or had any dealings with him. Not only was Jonathan gentle, kind and loving, he was also strong and determined which allowed him to remain with his heartbroken friends and family as long as he did. He fought so hard to stay long enough for us to gather and be a comfort to one another before leaving to receive his reward in Heaven. Jonathan will never be forgotten; on the contrary, whenever his friends and family are moved to joy and laughter, we will think of him. We love you, Jon!
