James Stephen “Steve” Turbeville – Obituary

James Stephen “Steve” Turbeville, 83, of Iuka, MS, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at his residence. Mr. Turbeville was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and he also served for eight years in the Mississippi National Guard. He retired from Tishomingo County Electric Power Association, where he worked for 38 years as a lineman. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 13, graveside at Snowdown Cemetery, officiated by Bro. Donnie Riley. Interment will follow in Snowdown Cemetery. Pallbearers include Billy Kirk, Lanny Borden, Stephen Borden, Casey Kirk, Colt Bullen, and Ricky Timbes. Honorary pallbearers include the employees of Tishomingo County Electric Power Association. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth LaCaze Turbeville; two daughters, Vicki Borden (Lanny) and Kaye Kirk (Billy); four grandchildren, Casey Kirk (Heather), Sabrina Matney, Haley Bullen (Colt), and Stephen Borden; and five great-grandchildren, Connor Bullen, Dylan Kirk, Spencer Kirk, Liam Bullen, and Emma Kate Matney; all of Iuka. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Alice Gaisser Turbeville; a brother, Carl D. Turbeville; two sisters, Betty Joyce Swift and Dixie Charlene Turbeville; and an infant sister.
