Johnnie Leland Harris Holt – Obituary

Johnnie Leland Harris Holt, age 103, a life-long resident of Florence, Al., passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017. Her life celebration will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 Visitation from 11:00 – 1:00 and service at 1:00 pm in the chapel at Elkins Chapel, Hermitage drive Florence with Brother Randy Crawford officiating. Burial will be at Florence City Cemetery.
Johnnie had resided at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab Center in Florence the past two years, where she was cared for so lovingly. She was the oldest member of The Florence First Church of the Nazarene and a retired nurse.
Johnnie married Joseph Burdette Holt on December 10, 1929. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents, John and Neatie Harris; daughter, Peggy Joyce Carter; brothers, Dewey and Paul Harris; Sisters, Nema Ruple, Lottie Shelton, Blanch Harris, and Annie Fern Wray; Son in law, Pete Stockton; grandson Bill Carter Jr., great-grandchildren, Selena Tidwell and Elizabeth Carter.
Survivors are her daughter, Betty Stockton; Son in law, Billy Carter, Sr; grandchildren, Sondra (Jorge) Castell, Steve (Kathy) Carter, Bubba (Suzy) Stockton, Tammy Tidwell, Angie (Andy) Gibson; great-grandchildren, Nick Castell, Kevin (Jamie) Carter, Eric (Kerri) Carter, Amanda Tidwell, Brandon Tidwell, Andrea Carter, Crystal Carter and Jennifer (Tristen) Martin; great-great-grandchildren, Hattie Carter, Madison Jimerson, Kolt Carter, Makayla Carter, Brayden Poss, Noah Rickard and Cooper Martin. Special caregivers, Angie Hanvey and Darlene Roberson.
A special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Tennessee Valley and Mitchell Hollingsworth for your care and support .
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
