ATHENS-Those who enjoy a spring day in Alabama can visit High Cotton Arts to see how artists interpret the season.

Athens Arts League held its annual Alabama Spring Art Competition and displayed the entries in the picture windows at High Cotton Arts in Downtown Athens. The entries will be on display through April.

“Each of us has a favorite part of spring, whether it is the flowers blooming, life on the farm, bird watching or exploring the outdoors,” said Athens Arts League President Amy Golden. “Our art competition allows artists to share their vision of spring with the community.”

The artists created pieces ranging from a shrimp boat on the water to a necklace featuring a nest of eggs.
