Avies D. Hill King, 92 of Somerville, The West Point Community, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Diversicare of Arab.
Mrs. King was born March 7, 1925 in Morgan County to Ellis H. Hill and Bamma Gilley Hill. She was a homemaker. Her husband: Grafton King preceded her in death January 31, 2005. She was an artist and enjoyed arts and crafts.
She was a member of West Point Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Billy R. and Michele King; her daughter and son-in-law: Meridith K. and William Martin; grandchildren: Billy R. King Jr., Tommy King, Michael King, Kelli King Bartee, Cameron Miller Starnes and Marshall Miller and twelve great grandchildren; sisters: Vivian Hill Yancey and Avis Hill Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband: Grafton King; her son: Roger S. King; her parents: Ellis and Bamma King; two sisters: Gerry Hill Guthrie and Vera Hill King and one brother: Ralph Hill.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 8, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City with Brothers: Eldridge Criscoe and Harry Saint, officiating. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Marshall Miller, Billy King Jr., Mike Taylor, William Martin, Luke Wolfe and Stanley Thomas.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday April 7, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City.
