Frank Hugh Hemphill, Jr., 59, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born in Illinois on December 5, 1957, to Frank Hugh and Ruby Maeline Burton Hemphill. He was raised in Amite, LA, before moving here thirty years ago. He had worked at Leggett & Platt in Tupelo for many years. He was a member of the Centerville Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the New Orleans Saints, LSU Tigers, and his dog, Rebel.
Services will be at 1 p. m. Saturday, April 8, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Greg Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Summers Hemphill; one son, Trey Hemphill (fiancée Taylor), both of Mooreville; one daughter, Angel Hemphill of Tupelo; two brothers, Jeff Hemphill (Judy) of Hammond, LA, and Danny Hemphill (Kristen) of Roseland, LA; two sisters, Carol Hemphill Tullos (Terry) and Cindy Hemphill Cuti (David), both of Amite, LA; a brother-in-law, James Summers (Suzi) of Lakewood, CO; a special aunt, Helen Ridings of Amory, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Corey Evans, Jeff Edwards, Durrell Lollar, Terry Whitt, Russ Collins, and Mark Fisher.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Summers and Olen Nichols.
Visitation will be from 11 a. m. until service time Saturday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
