Mildred Fay Gunter – Obituary

Mildred Fay Gunter, 100, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at her home. She was born April 1, 1917, to Joseph Thomas and Mary Alice Fikes Reed. She was a member of the Fulton Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and she worked 17 years at the I.C.C. cafeteria. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed traveling.

Services will be at 3:30 p. m. Saturday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Minister Russ Crosswhite and Doug Smith officiating. William “Bill” Miles will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Hardens Chapel cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Malcom Reed Gunter (Amy) of Panama City Beach, FL; three daughters, Ramona Gunter Beasley, Dorothy Jean Gunter Fowler, and Tammy Faye Gunter Timms, all of Fulton; nine grandchildren, Malcom Reed Gunter II, Teri Ann Gunter, Keith Edward Beasley, Kelly Lynn Taylor, Shane Fowler, Shannon Norris, T.J. Hardin II, Les Hardin, and Mia Paige Timms; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.M. Gunter; four brothers, Vernon, Bunyan, Audie, and Mitchell Reed; three sisters, Ethel Davis, Gertrude Summers, and Sophia Wheeler; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Taylor, T.J. Hardin, Les Hardin, Keith Beasley, Shane Fowler, and Terry Joe Hardin.

Visitation will be from 5:00 -8:00 p. m. Friday and from Noon until service time Saturday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
