Helen Hammett Holbert – Obituary

Helen Hammett Holbert, age 97, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Sunday, April 02, 2017 at Southern Care Assisted Living in Franklin, TN. She was a native of Alabama and a member of French Broad Valley Baptist Church in Kodak, TN.  She resided the last three years with her nephew, Larry Hammonds in Murfreesboro, Tennesse.  Prior to that, she resided in Kodak, Tennessee.  Helen worked as a candy maker at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge until she retired at the age of 94.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L. G. and Ada Benefield Hammett; her husband, Ralph Holbert; two sisters, Felma Hampton (Thomas), and Ruby Hammonds (Carl); five brothers, Dewey Hammett (Ruby), Leon Hammett (Mary), John Andrew Hammett, Max Hammett and Ray Hammett; and one sister-in-law, Martha Jewell Hammett.

She is survived by

Ann Hammett, Knoxville, TN
Irene Hammett, Knoxville, TN

Several Nieces and Nephews

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 04, 2017 at Neal Funeral Home.  Graveside services and interment will be conducted at John Lay Cemetery at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 05, 2017, with Larry Hammonds officiating.
