Betty Jean Eubanks – Obituary

Mrs. Betty Jean Eubanks, 81, of Ardmore, Alabama died on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida. Mrs. Betty had resided with her daughter and family for the past 3 years.
Betty was born on May 24, 1935 in Limestone County, Athens, Alabama to the late Herbert and Bera (Hogan) Abernathy. Married July 29, 1954 to Virble Eubanks, Betty was a homemaker, and a devoted and loving wife for 56 years. During 30 of those years they resided in Hobart, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virble in 2011, and a brother Edwin Abernathy in 2012.
Betty was a member of the Wooley Springs Church of Christ and attended the Edgewood Church of Christ in Lakeland, Florida.
Survivors include a son Randy (Joni) Eubanks of Chesterton, Indiana, daughters Sandy (Charles) Rawdon of Lakeland, Florida, Michelle (John) Riggins of Conway, Arkansas, and Christa (Larry) Ingram of Columbiana, Alabama. Grandchildren include Kayla, Megan, Autumn, Alicia, Logan, BreAnna, Eva, Jennifer, and Brian and 8 great-grandchildren. 3 brothers Elton Abernathy, Ellis Abernathy, Wesley Abernathy all of Athens, Alabama; 3 sisters Katherine Bowers, Athens, Alabama, Margaret Smith, Huntsville, Alabama, and Patricia Simmons, Athens Alabama. Betty was the treasured Aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 4 from 5:00-8:00 PM and funeral service on Wednesday, April 5 at 2:00 PM with Charles Rawdon officiating. Betty will be laid to rest at the Athens City Cemetery, Athens, Alabama
