Sam Karrh Hamilton Jr., age 76 of Buchanan Peninsula, Rose Trail, Cherokee, AL, died Thursday, March 23, 2017. His family will receive friends Tuesday, 1-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Steven Butler officiating.
Sam was a native of Jasper, AL and served in the Navy on the USS Independence during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He attended Columbia Military Academy and was a graduate of Sheffield High School. He was retired from Norfolk Southern and loved building and flying remote control airplanes. He was loved by women and dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Karrh and Dorothy Hamilton.
Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Hamilton, sister, Linda Lou Hamilton and his beloved dog Ollie.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Colbert County Animal Shelter or the Disabled American Veterans Assoc.
