James Hayes Stansell Jr., age 74, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017. Visitation was Wednesday, March 22, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will be today at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Henry Melton and Ralph Holt officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be nephews, grandchildren, and family friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Colbert and Lauderdale County Bar Association, Ethan Stansell, Brandon Bone, and Jacob Smith.
Jim was a U.S Army and Navy veteran and was a retired local attorney. He was a graduate of Deshler High School class of 1960, Florence State (UNA), Cumberland School of Law, and was a member of Faith Church and Rogersville Kiwanis Club.
Preceding him in death were his parents, James Sr. and Eileen Stansell.
Survivors are his wife, Angela Bone Stansell; children, Matthew Stansell (Amanda) and Elizabeth Della-Fera (Gabe); siblings, Chuck Stansell (Loresa), Neta Humphrey (Phil), Mazie Marchiony (Bob), and Dottie Anderson; and grandchildren, Ethan and Austin Stansell.
