Orby Emmett Bennett, age 85, of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at his residence.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Bennett Cemetery. Terry Townsend will officiate.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his Parents-Marlin and Annie Bennett; Infant Daughters-Brenda Fay and Pamela Gail; Brothers-Edward Bennett and George Bennett; Sisters-Dovie Ashby, Lillian Pulliam, Ruby Pulliam, Dorothy Burgett, Eunice Beck and Joy Tubbs; Son-in-law-Corky Lawrence.
He is survived by his Wife-Shirley Bennett; Daughters-Glenda Lawrence of Jasper and Terri Whittemore of Jasper; Son-in-law and best friend-Kenneth Whittemore; Sons-Randy Bennett (Susan) of Jasper and Michael Bennett (Joy) of Jasper; Sisters-Pearl West of Huntsville, Ann Frye of Jasper and Ruth Walker of Jasper; Brother-Arnold Bennett of Jasper; Grandchildren-Kendra Whittemore McDuffa (Brandon), Ken Whittemore (Cassie), Jamison Whittemore (Shauna), Ali Bennett and Chloe Bennett; Great Grandchildren-Lauryn and Karson Whittemore, Blaine, Dacey and Brody McDuffa, Hayes Whittemore.
Pallbearers will be Brandon McDuffa, Ken Whittemore, Jamison Whittemore, Jamie Woods, Sam Bennett and Mickey Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers are his great grandchildren, Karson Whittemore, Blaine McDuffa, Brody McDuffa and Hayes Whittemore.
