Robert Wesley Powel of Pulaski passed away at NHC Healthcare on Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was born in Miami, Florida on August 18, 1933 and was 83 years old. Mr. Powel was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a retired Electrician at Eastern Air Lines, a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was interested in Forestry and Physics. A celebration of life visitation will be on Tuesday, March 21st from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Association % DeDe McAfee, Bank of Frankewing, 2324 Highway 64 East, Frankewing, Tn. 38459. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard B. and Anna Post Powel, sisters, Mildred Johns, Virginia Bachman and Betty Emig. Brothers, Howard Powel and Richard Powel. He is survived by his, wife of 62 years, Joan MacClaskey Powel of Pulaski, daughter, Susan (Alan) Risk of Florida, son, Donald (Charlotte) Powel of Michigan, son, Wayne (Nancy) Powel of Pennsylvania, 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, brother, Donald (Karen) Powel of California and several nephews, nieces and friends also survive.
