Donald C. Bridges – Obituary

Donald C. Bridges passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his home in the Evergreen Community of natural causes. He was 80 years old. Donald was born April 10, 1936 in Booneville and was raised in Jumpertown where the majority of the Bridges family still resides. He married Mary Carolyn Brown who preceded him in death April 25, 2016. He was a member of the New Chapel Methodist Church in the Evergreen Community where he enjoyed listening to preaching, singing and playing guitar with his wife. Donald loved music. He played professional guitar and could also play banjo and piano. He sang tenor in a couple of gospel quartets and recorded an album as a member of the Servants Quartet. He loved bird watching, gardening and sharing their harvest.

Services will be 1 pm Sunday at the Siloam Baptist Church in Prentiss County with Bro. Danny Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Saturday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Lee Memorial is entrusted with the arrangements.

He is survived by his three children, Donna Sue Cordell (Michael) of Cleveland, TN, David Bridges of Plantersville, and Bradley Bridges (Michelle) of Tupelo; 10 grandchildren, Jacqueline Hayes (Chip), Jennifer Brooks (Dustin), Joseph Cordell (Heather), Austin Bridges, Nikki Bridges, Nick Kent, Brandi Bridges, Chase Culver, Brittany Burchfield (Chase), and Allison Miller; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Bridges; a daughter-in-law, Samantha Bridges

Pallbearers will be Chase Culver, Chase Burchfield, Brad Gilmore, Corey Vandevander, Sawyer Rebarchek, and Joseph Cordell.
