Charles Edward Thompson – Obituary

Mr. Charles Edward Thompson, age 70 of Athens, Alabama passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Thompson was born on February, 3 1947 in Mississippi to James Douglas and Burnell Stanfield Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Quinnie Stepp Thompson; two sons, Lieutenant Colonel Craig Thompson (Maryann), and Jamie Thompson; one daughter, Wendi Thompson Lovell (Derrick); eight grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Mr. Thompson was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War.

Services for Mr. Thompson will be Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:00PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. A.G. Stepp and Joseph Scott officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 prior to the service. Burial will take place in Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jack Watson, John Whitt, Mike Calhoun, Pete Porter, Barrett Sims, and Brian Thompson.
