FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama Department of Communications is participating in this year’s Global News Relay, a student-produced news event that will stream live globally March 29.
First launched in 2014, the Global News Relay showcases academic mass communication programs from across the world. Seventeen schools, representing 11 countries and four continents, are producing news and informational content that focuses on this year’s theme, “Solutions Journalism.” University of North Alabama students are producing approximately 15 minutes of video news reports and interviews for the event.
The Global News Relay is scheduled to begin streaming at 5 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time (12 p.m. Central Daylight Time) and will last approximately five hours. More information, including social media links, is available at http://www.globalnewsrelay.com/
The UNA Department of Communications is housed in the College of Arts & Sciences and offers majors in Radio-Television & Interactive Media, Public Relations, Journalism: Multimedia, Film & Digital Media Production, and Public Communication.
