Pauline McCoy Myers Woodhouse – Obituary

Pauline McCoy Myers Woodhouse, 92, passed away Sunday morning, March 5, 2017, in Pulaski.

Pauline was a devout member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for more than 70 years and called Pulaski her home for the last 10 years. She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas but soon moved to El Paso, Texas, where she lived 80 plus years. She worked for the El Paso Water Department and the El Paso Unified School District. She was an avid camper and angler. She spent many weekends on the Mescalero Indian Reservation in New Mexico catching fish and enjoying life. After coming to Pulaski, she spent many happy hours volunteering at the Adventist Clothing Center, where she was lovingly referred to as the “pants lady.”

She is preceded in death by her husband Ira George “John” Myers and husband Harold C. Woodhouse, her only son Donald C. Myers and his wife Karen J. Dusek Myers, a sister Shirley Garza and a brother Jim Tom McCoy, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Betty Ann Myers McCann, her grandchildren Neal McCann of Pulaski, Michele Myers Allen and husband Delbert of San Angelo, Texas, Lucinda McCann Storm and husband Jason of Pulaski. Her beloved great-grandchildren Tommie Clemons McCann of Arlington, Texas, Gabriel Storm and Nathaniel Storm of Pulaski. Two sisters, Betty McCoy Herron Fogg and Peggy McCoy Hopper both of Pulaski, sister-in-law Joan Phares McCoy of Odessa, Texas, a niece Nona Rekasis and husband Michael of Pulaski and numerous other nieces and nephews. Also her best friend for 70 plus years and whom she considered a sister, Ms Billie Tunnell of Fort Worth, Texas.

A memorial and celebration of her life will be held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2808 Minor Hill Road, Pulaski, TN 38478, March 26, 2017, at 11 a.m. Any remembrances may be made to the Adventist Clothing Center, the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, PO Box 456, Pulaski, TN 38478 or Hospice Compassus, 726 N. Locust Ave., 2nd floor, Suite B, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464.
