Joyce Whitmire Weaver – Obituary

Graveside service for Joyce Whitmire Weaver of Decatur will be Sunday, March 12, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Dr. Charles Boling officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery Mausoleum with visitation immediately following the service.

Mrs. Weaver died March 9, 2017. She was born Feb. 9, 1931 in Morgan County to James Buford Whitmire and Mary Ingram Whitmire.

She is survived by two sons, Lawrence Clark Weaver (Leslie) and William Michael Weaver (Sabrina), both of Decatur; four granddaughters, Elizabeth Clark Weaver, Caroline Noble Weaver Ashwander (Bill), Ivey-Katherine Weaver and Anna-Quinn Weaver; and three great-grandchildren, William Samuel Ashwander, Jr., John Frederick Ashwander and Elizabeth Noble Ashwander. She is also survived by a sister, Margaret Whitmire Burks.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, AQ Weaver; by her parents; and by her brothers, James Buford Whitmire, Jr., Donald Boone Whitmire and Harold Clark Whitmire.

Mrs. Weaver was a lifelong resident of Decatur and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She loved her family, her church, and her country. She was a lovely, kind and intelligent person who will be remembered lovingly by her family and friends.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.
