Mrs. Hallie Mae “Cobby” Slatton Cox, 79, died Friday March 10, 2017. She was currently a resident of Monteagle, Tennessee and had lived in Gruetli-Laager many years. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on April 25, 1937 to Sydney and Rosie Layne Doss who preceded her in death along with 3 husbands, Robert Slatton, Clyde Reagan and Wiley Cox; daughter, Wanda K. Zaid; sisters, Pearl Layne and Ruby Griffith; brothers, Estell “Eke”, Robert “Bob” and Ray Doss; infant sister, Clara and infant brother, Claude; great grandson, Hayden Doss.
She is survived by her sons, Billy (Teresa) and Robert Earl Slatton; daughters, Lois (Terry) Butcher, Jane (Dale) Hammers, Clair (Guy) Anderson and Julie Doss; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
